Eiran aikuislukio space renovation

Eiran aikislukio is an about 2 500 adult-student's adult education facility that has a long tradition, it has operations in two facilities in Eastern-Helsinki. One of the facilities is in an educational facility building that is located in laivurinkatu and it is built in 1956. Its office-, guidance and student service spaces were renovated to better serve nowadays functional purpose, but respecting the history of the building at the same time.

Practical spaces with smart glass walls

The aim for renovating the inner spaces was a functional and a pleasant work and errand environment to all the Eira's aikuislukio's students, staff and for the people running errands at the school. 

In terms of work and student spaces the need was solved by creating the public space walls with HSL Group's domestic smart glass solutions. When the smart glasses are not activated, light can go unhindered from one space to another and from the public space it's easy to see whether the room is free or in use. If needed, each work spaces smart glasses can be dimmed with a press of a button, giving the space the needed privacy. Work and study peace is also taken care of by the delivered solutions good sound insulation.

Room specific door solutions was also delivered with the smart glasses. The delivered smart glasses, doors and electrical switches create a stylish entirety because of a congruent surface treatment. As a surface material was chosen a timeless oak veneer, which fits perfectly with a traditional building's style and the color environment of the premises.

Because of their characteristics, transformation flexible partition systems are suitable for really demanding educational institutions, and the spaces created with them are, if needed, transformable quickly and without dust. HSL Group's professionals will be in charge of the walls and the doors maintenance and transformation works, if the client wishes, for the duration of the whole lifecycle.
